I don't pretend to know everything about politics, but this confuses me. Senators Flee. If your job is to represent people and vote for them, then that is what you do. You don't have to like it, it's your job! One you campaigned for. So I would assume you wanted the job. Why should you be congratulated for running and hiding from doing your job? Shouldn't you be fired? Maybe that's just me.

I've held off as long as I could. It's just not the holidays though without it. so Sophie and I went out and got a tree. Yes, it's fake. I can't keep plants alive to save my life and a dry dead tree is not at all Christmasy. We bought those place and bake cookies and frosting and sprinkles. I just can't imagine the holidays without that movie. Mom used to put it on all the time and I got a healthy respect for Bing and Danny. I'll stay up late on that channel AMC and watch movies. It's the one tradition I still keep from when I was little. This is the only day of the year I can get Sophie to go to bed on time! She's always so exhausted from dancing and singing, cookies and lights. It's by far my favorite day of the year. So I'm booting up the movie and getting the lights out, hopefully I can untangle them, and we'll start on cookies!
So I'm curious, what other traditions do people have for the holidays? The only one I really have is the movie while putting up the tree and making the paper links for a count down to the big day!

The furniture is all in, the bookshelves put together, and I even found the xmas decorations. I promised Sophie that we'd get a tree this weekend and decorate. How did I get so much dust? The stuff was clean when I packed it, I clean it before I put it away after unpacking. So where is this dust coming from? I have at least the major stuff unpacked and put away, hopefully I'll be able to make something other than macaroni and cheese for dinner tonight. So now there's only one question. Can I say I'm officially moved in if there's still boxes in the closet??
